Step-by-Step DTF Pressing Instructions
1. Pre-Press Your Garment
Start by placing your blank shirt (or hoodie, or tote—whatever you’re pressing) onto the heat press. Give it a quick 5-second press to remove any moisture or wrinkles. This helps the transfer bond properly.
2. Place the Transfer
Cut your design from the gang sheet if needed. Then place the DTF transfer face down on the garment, so the inked side touches the fabric and the clear film is on top.
3. Press It
Set your press to the correct temperature and time (see the table above). Use medium to heavy pressure, close the press, and let the magic happen.
4. Peel the Film
This step depends on the type of transfer:
Cold Peel: Let it cool completely. Then peel the film off slowly and steadily.
Hot Peel: Wait 2–3 seconds after lifting the press, then peel while the transfer is still warm.
5. Finish with a Second Press
Want that design locked in and looking extra clean? Cover it with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press again for 10 seconds. This helps improve wash durability and gives the finish a polished feel.

DTF Aftercare Tips – Keep Your Prints Looking Fresh
Right care makes all the difference. Here’s how to help your transfers last:
Do not wash for 24 hours.
Wash inside out, in cold water only.
No bleach or harsh detergent.
Tumble dry low, or hang to dry.
Never iron directly over the design area.
Tips for Consistent, Pro-Quality Results
For consistent, professional quality results:
Use a quality heat press—not a household iron.
Pre-press. It’s quick and makes a big difference, don’t skip it.
Double check your temp, pressure, and peel time.
Transfers, store flat in a cool dry area and ensure there is no direct sunlight.
