One rule decides whether this works for you: the case has to be rigid. UV DTF holds on hard polycarbonate, acrylic, hard plastic, metal and sealed wood. Custom Stickers for Hard Phone Cases

UV DTF stickers printed from your artwork, laid out on a sheet and shipped ready to apply. No heat press, no weeding, no transfer tape to buy on the side. You peel the backing, set the design on the case, rub it down and peel the clear film off. It takes under a minute per case.

Read this part before you order. UV DTF bonds to rigid surfaces only. It does not stick to anything that bends or flexes, and that includes silicone. A large share of the phone cases sold today are silicone or flexible TPU, and on those the sticker lifts at the edges and comes away. On a hard polycarbonate, acrylic, metal or sealed wood case it goes down permanently and stays there.

Thirty second test: squeeze the back of your case. If it bends, gives or springs back, it is silicone or TPU and this product will not hold on it. If it feels like a solid shell, you are good.

Sheets come from the same press as the rest of our UV DTF line, so a phone case order can ride along with tumblers, laptops or signage on the same sheet.

Which Cases These Stick To

The material matters more than the brand. What the adhesive needs is a hard back with a smooth, flat area big enough for your design.

Yes, it holds

Polycarbonate and hard plastic. The classic snap-on shell that clicks onto the phone.
Acrylic. Clear or tinted rigid backs, including the glossy hybrid cases with a hard panel.
Metal. Aluminum and stainless backs and bumper cases with a solid plate.
Sealed wood. Finished, sealed and smooth. Raw or oiled wood does not count.
Glass backs on rigid cases, and the bare back of the phone itself if it is glass and smooth.

No, it lifts

Silicone. This is the big one. Silicone flexes and the adhesive has nothing stable to hold, so the sticker peels off at the edges.
TPU and any soft, rubbery, bendable case. Same reason.
Textured backs. Grip ribs, matte grain, carbon fiber pattern, raised logos, diamond or wave relief.
Soft touch rubberized coatings. They feel smooth but the coating itself releases.
Fabric, leather and faux leather wraps, and any case that flexes when you twist it.

Three things we would rather say now

Once the adhesive touches the case, it is down. There is no lifting it and trying again.
Taking one off later is possible but messy. It breaks apart and leaves adhesive to clean off.
It is not waterproof and it is not dishwasher safe. Hand cleaning only.

If your case is a hybrid with a hard panel set in a soft bumper, put the design on the hard panel and keep it clear of the flexible edge. If you are not sure about the case you have, order the 6 inch length first and test it on that exact case before you commit to a run.

Every sheet is 22 inches wide and you choose the length. One foot gives you a 22 by 12 inch printed area, which fits a lot of phone case designs at once. Send us the artwork and we gang it into the sheet for you, so filling the sheet costs the same as printing one design on it.

From one foot up the rate is a flat $10.80 per foot, so a ten foot order costs exactly ten times a one foot order. The 6 inch length at $9.00 exists so you can test a case before you print a batch.

Application

How to Apply Them

STEP 1

Take the case off the phone. Wipe the back with rubbing alcohol and let it dry all the way. Dust or skin oil under the film turns into a bubble later.

STEP 2

Cut the design out of the sheet with scissors if you ordered several. Cut through the backing and the clear film together, on the film and not through the artwork.

STEP 3

Peel the paper backing off. Do not touch the adhesive with your fingers.

STEP 4

Line the design up while it is still off the case, then tack the center down first. Once it touches, it is down and it does not reposition.

STEP 5

Rub firmly from the center out with your thumb or a squeegee, pushing the air ahead of you, then peel the clear top film off slowly at a sharp angle. If a piece of the design lifts with it, lay it back down, rub that spot again and keep going.

Give it a few hours before you put the case back on the phone and start handling it. Keep the design away from the camera cutout and the edges, where a fingernail will catch it.

Care

How They Hold Up

Applied to a clean, hard, smooth case, the sticker is permanent. It handles hand washing with mild soap and water without lifting, which covers the normal life of a phone case.

What takes one off by accident is soaking, scrubbing the edge with an abrasive pad, and picking at a corner. Do not run a decorated case through a dishwasher and do not leave it sitting in water. These are not waterproof and they are not dishwasher safe.

Keep in mind that a phone case lives in a pocket and against a table all day. A design in the middle of the back wears slower than one that runs off the edge, so if the artwork allows it, keep a small margin from the rim.

You can take a sticker off if you want it gone, but it comes off in pieces and leaves adhesive you will have to clean up with alcohol. Decide on the placement before it touches the case.

Phone Case Sticker FAQs

Do these stickers work on silicone phone cases?

No. Silicone bends and flexes, and UV DTF does not bond to anything that bends or flexes. On a silicone case the sticker lifts at the edges and comes off. The same goes for flexible TPU. These are made for rigid cases: polycarbonate, acrylic, hard plastic, metal and sealed wood.

How do I know if my case is the right kind?

Squeeze the back of the case. If it bends, gives or springs back, it is silicone or TPU and the sticker will not hold. If it stays solid, it is a hard case and it will work, as long as the back is smooth. Skip cases with grip ribs, matte grain, raised logos or a soft touch rubberized coating.

Do I need a heat press to apply them?

No. There is no heat, no press and no curing. Peel the paper backing, line the design up, rub it down with your thumb or a squeegee, then peel the clear top film off slowly.

Can I reposition the sticker after I place it?

No. Once the adhesive touches the case it is down for good. Line the design up before it makes contact, because pulling it back up tears the design apart.

Can I wash a case with one of these on it?
