Send us these
- PNG is our first choice: it handles transparency cleanly and keeps detail crisp without making the file huge.
- AI, EPS, SVG and PDF are vector. If your design was drawn as vector, send it that way: it is the sharpest result you can get. Convert all text to outlines first — if we do not have your font, the file will not open the way you designed it.
- PSD works too, as long as the background is transparent and the resolution is 300 DPI.
These will not print well
- Images saved from social media or a website. They are usually 72 DPI and look soft or pixelated once pressed.
- Screenshots. Same problem, plus they carry the background with them.
- A design with a white background. DTF prints white ink, so that white box gets printed around your artwork.
- A small image stretched to a big size. Enlarging does not add detail, it only makes the blur bigger.
The size you upload is the size we print
We do not resize, move or rearrange anything. Whatever is on your artboard is what comes off the press, at the exact dimensions you built it.
- Build the artboard at the finished size. A 10 inch chest print means a 10 inch design on the file, not a 3 inch design you expect us to blow up.
- 300 DPI at that final size. A 300 DPI file scaled up to double its size is really a 150 DPI file.
- Check the dimensions before you export, in inches rather than pixels. It is the fastest way to catch a mistake.
Anything wider than the sheet gets cut off. Build your file 22 inches wide (30 inches for wide format). The length is whatever you ordered.
Work in RGB, and expect a small shift
Send your file in RGB. Our printers are profiled for it, and converting to CMYK first tends to dull the brightest colors before we ever see them.
Colors can shift slightly from what you see on screen. Every monitor is different and none of them are printing with ink on film, so a neon on your display will not be exactly the neon that comes out. If a specific color has to match, contact us before you order — color matching is available as a paid service and we will quote it based on your artwork.
Fitting several designs on one sheet
A gang sheet is one long film with as many designs as you can fit. You pay for the sheet, not for how many designs are on it, so the tighter you pack it the less each design costs.
- Set the artboard to 22 inches wide and as long as the sheet you ordered.
- Leave at least a quarter inch between designs so they can be cut apart cleanly.
- Keep artwork away from the very edge of the sheet.
- Group by garment or by job if that makes your pressing day easier. The order on the sheet is entirely yours to decide.
- Export the whole layout as one PNG with a transparent background.

Whichever you use, your artwork has to be matched to your order, so always include the order number.

The fastest route, and the one we recommend. Attach the file at the end of the purchase process on the product page. It arrives already linked to your order, so nothing can get mismatched.

For files too heavy to upload on the site. The link is given to you at the end of the purchase process. Put your order number in the subject so we can match it.
Email it to us
Send it to info@dtftransfersnow.com with your order number as the subject line.
An order without artwork does not enter production. If we cannot match a file to your order, it waits. On a same-day order that means it misses the run.

Print As Is · free
We print exactly what you upload, with no review. Nobody opens the file first. Fastest route, and the right one when you know your file is ready.
Artwork Review · $15.00
A printer checks resolution, transparency, hidden pixels, sizing, and overlapping or cut-off designs before your file prints, and tells you if something needs fixing. It is a review, not design work: we do not redraw, recolor or rebuild your file. Not available on same-day orders.
Free reprint guarantee. If a sheet arrives with a printing defect on our side, we reprint it at no cost. What we cannot reprint for free is a file that was uploaded blurry, misspelled or at the wrong size, because that is what we were asked to print. Spelling and design content are always the customer's responsibility.
